We have nicknamed this stop “Dog Patch”. There is nothing pretty here. It’s mostly cloudy and cold. We are camped on a gravel parking lot. There’s a dam/reservoir and fishing but the scenery is desert. There are foxtails here too so we will be careful Zoe doesn’t get into it.
We drove into Lovelock for lunch at a home cooking joint. People were very friendly and Zoe was welcomed too 😊. She sat on my lap and didn’t make a peep.

Hmmmm . . . the blue sky is nice — but I’m not much of a fan of the Desert West. Not enough big trees or greenery . . . everything so brown and dry. I can see why the natives would be really happy to have someone new stop by:>)
But my middle daughter and her husband “went west” more than 20 years ago and settled in Salt Lake City. They absolutely LOVE camping, hiking, biking, and exploring all of the nooks and crannies of the fantastic Utah scenery. It’s not looking like they’ll ever come back East. [sigh]
I have a feeling your periodic on-the-road updates are going to be a lot of fun. A photo of Zoe in your lap would been nice:>)
