This flower is in my yard, planted by a previous owner. A couple of people have said it’s an amaryllis. (Thank you Dale). It sure is pretty right now.

We saw this turtle while driving around in our golf cart. It was scrambling to get away from the couple of people who had noticed it. The turtle actually tumbled down an embankment in his haste to get away. Unhurt, he quickened his pace and got away into the water.

We love a particular coffee creamer and lately it’s very hard to find. We have friends here in the park on the lookout for it whenever they are shopping. I return I have supplied them with several hand crafted masks. Today they both came back with 2 bottles each – bonanza!!! We are set for a while!

Watch all the way to the end. These birds are guaranteed to put a smile on your face. We didn’t make this video, someone shared it with me.
Our go to place for picture taking (Lake Apopka wildlife drive) has been closed indefinitely due to COVID-19. Major bummer. It’s a drive through, single lane. People do not congregate at all. There is no logical reason for closing. Anyway we got on the golf cart and rode around the golf course until we found the family group. Two adults and two babies. The babies are so adorable – they are orange! (These are Vic’s).

The bulldog is the marine corp mascot. I couldn’t resist even though it must weigh 50 lbs.
After days and days of cloudy and or rainy weather we had one sort of decent day and went to Kissimmee. I got an eagle drying his feathers. We went back yesterday and I got the adult male American Kestrel. The bird ID says it is a petite falcon roughly the same size as a Mourning Dove but with a larger head and wider tail. I say it is super skittish and super hard to get close enough for a photograph.

Adult Great Horned Owl, ranch lands in Kissimmee FL (12.9.2019)
Just before sunset this owl flew in out of the nearby woods and perched on a post. He scouted the area, swiveling his head around. It was fascinating to watch. What a gorgeous bird! and what a thrill since it’s the first one I’ve seen since we started taking pictures 2-1/2 years ago.

Kelly visited us for the weekend before her weeklong conference in Orlando. We enjoyed seeing her tremendously! The only negative was the cold/cloudy days we had so we didn’t get to go to Apopka. Kelly loves that place as we do but she was happy to have the extra sleep instead. On Wednesday she and I had lunch at the Gaylord Palms where the conference was going on. So fun! That place is amazing, huge and lavish! She signed up too late to stay there, but next time! This conference is held annually and always at a Gaylord, in different cities.
