Kingfisher
This is the most elusive bird, we have been trying to get a decent picture for weeks. He was sitting near the top of a tall dead tree yesterday. Vic stopped the car and I walked up. (The diesel makes a racket.) He didn’t stay long but I did get some good shots before he took off. Yesterday at Viera Wetlands.

Ring necked Duck splashing

Sandhill Cranes
We saw the Sandhill Cranes today. We are hoping to see their offspring one of these days.

Gator
Victor thinks this gator looks like he’s wearing a toupee. Haha!

Valentine’ Day
Victor gave me a huge box of Godiva, a rare treat for sure.

A visit to Viera Wetlands
Viera Wetlands in Florida. We’ve seen some interesting wildlife lately. We learned that the white Ibis’s legs and beak turn bright red in breeding season. We’ve also been following the growth of the Gray heron’s chicks. There are several nests and they are not all on the same timetable.

It’s a Bittern

Gray Heron babies
We visited Viera Wetlands and took more pictures of the Gray Heron nest.

White Pelican in flight
What a day we had! Leaving Viera Wetlands we drive through a new subdivision with large bodies of water alongside the road. This white pelican was by himself. (My picture)
