These are Florida Sandhill Cranes. They acted so unconcerned that we were there. I was standing so close while they walked by I could have reached out and petted them (almost😎).

We set up a bird feeder
Behind our camper, with a perch. The squirrels keep trying to get at it but they can’t get anything except what the blackbirds spill on the ground. This morning has been busy with many visitors: mockingbird, blue jay, male and female cardinal, blackbird, mourning dove, and surprisingly a red bellied woodpecker.

Gray Heron has babies!
Viera Wetlands, Viera FL. I had to get up on the toolbox in the bed of our truck to get high enough to see into the nest. It was worth the effort.

Dinner last night
Nothing fancy… we are cooking in a camper after all … the recipe is called Mississippi Pot Roast from Belle in the Kitchen. Very delicious😊

White Egret
This little guy was shaking the water off his feathers. He has some beautiful plumage.
SpaceX Falcon Heavy
The launch was today. Here are some photos we took. People came from miles around to stand out on the jetty and watch. Others got in their boats and watched from there. The launch was postponed a few times until finally it happened at 3:45 pm.

Backyard Feeder
I guess it was just a matter of time … LOL. We put a feeder up behind our camper this afternoon. We have a large picture window so we have a perfect view of the action. The first visitors were squirrels 🤨. We greased the pole with crisco. The squirrels can’t get up now! Here is a picture of the first bird guest, a cardinal.
Pink Spoonbill Youngster
We saw this youngster just outside KARS Park this morning. He/she is the youngest one we’ve ever seen. Notice how pale pink the feathers are with no markings on the head or beak. So adorable!
