Also saw this bird on the way home.

Turtle sighting
We saw this cool little (well, not so little) slider turtle on the way back.

Nature walk
There are signs for a nature trail in KARS Park but the trail is blocked off. Word is the wild pigs and gators are too close for safety. Today we found a trail with a paved path suitable for walking, running and biking. It goes about a mile, then connects to a wooden bridge leading to Kings Park with more pavement. It was very quiet on the trail, I saw one person on a bike. Victor walked in a ways with me and then went back to the truck. He is still having back issues and is working on his distance.

Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge (yesterday)
We visited the wildlife refuge yesterday afternoon with a new zoom lens. Victor liked it fine but I found it too heavy and awkward so I switched back to the zoom lens that came with the camera. We are in a learning curve… having so much fun!
The town of West Jefferson, NC
This little town is so adorable! We walked up and down the Main Street today. It is lined with cute shops, some with handmade crafts like baskets and colorful wool socks, antique shops, book store, etc. the main reason we went into town was to check out a balsamic and wine tasting place, hoping to find fig balsamic. Their fig balsamic was made with mission figs. I liked it but Victor did not. We are on our second to last bottle and may have to order it from the Olio store in Alexandria VA. We put it on cooked rice and love it. We had lunch at Sweet and Savory where we had a Reuben sandwich and roasted red pepper soup that was so tasty we got some to go for later. I made grilled sandwiches with soup
for dinner, yum 😋.
Dylan is a scamp

Our camper is so happy to be here 😊. There are many permanent sites here, here is one sweet set up.

I took a walk this morning and found a pond on the campgrounds.
