Visit with family and friends

I flew to VA and stayed overnight with my dear friends Charlotte and Kathi. Charlotte pulled out all the stops with a gourmet meal of lamb chops. It was so wonderful seeing them as it’s been quite a while.

After a very restful night in her guest room Charlotte dropped me off at daughter Kelly’s house.

Kelly’s crafting set up. She makes beautiful greeting cards.

On purpose it was Kelly’s birthday 😊. Kelly treated us to pedicures.

We were spoiled with tea and chocolate. So much fun!

The next day Kelly and I flew to New Hampshire where we stayed with daughter Holly and her family.

Hollys house in the snow

It snowed twice while we were there! We were busy all day every day, it was awesome. Holly made gourmet meals. The first night was coq au vin in the instapot.

There were games, puzzles, story time, lunches out, crafts, walks up Farm Rd and Castle in the Clouds. We taught Finn how to play parcheesi. He got the concept right away and he’s obviously got some mad math skills because he won!

Finn demonstrating how he uses the orange peel as a plate.
Justin working on Rubik’s Cube. He solved it of course. You don’t have to wonder where Finn got his math genes from.
It originally was a house for a wealthy family. Each room was decorated for Christmas by a different group and so beautiful.
Christmas tree at Castle in the Clouds.
Family walk up Farm Road. I’ve got on Holly’s coat and Bode’s snow boots haha

Three days flew by.

Holly has no shoes on and she is still the tallest.

We had a blast and I was treated like royalty. Thank you wonderful family and friends. ❤️ I love you all so much.

  1. It was a really big treat to be back up north with you, at this time of year. (I’m from Maine, originally, before moving to the D.C. area after college.) What a wonderful trip — with an awful lot packing into just a little bit of time. The scenes all looked pretty idyllic: snowy woods, castle in the sky, Christmas decor, empty spaces . . . lovely, though quite a shock to your southerner’s system, I’ll bet. Is Holly one of your daughters, too? I’m sorry I never learned many details of your mom’s family — but she obviously taught all her girls to be good cooks and appreciate good food:>)

Happy Holidays to you and Vic! I’ll be moseying down to St. Augustine in mid-January. You know where to find me, if you’re even cruising up I-95. At almost-82, I’m wondering how much longer I’ll hold onto 6930 Seaplace Ave. It gets harder and harder to live in two places. [sigh] Cheers!
