These shots from March got overlooked. There are several owls living in the wooded area next to the boat launch. Vic used a call to bring them out while I stood in a strategic spot to film them. It was exciting and very fun!
Nobody got hurt or attacked this time. We were very careful!

How does Vic call them out? By imitating them, or with a whistle of some kind?

There’s an app called Merlin that can be used to identify birds. It can also be used to play sounds each bird makes. He connects a portable Bluetooth speaker, plays the sound and the bird thinks another bird is there, comes closer to see it.

I love the barred owls. You need to wear a mesh face mask, I am always paranoid you will get pecked to death!
