Snacks on the Road sounds better than Roadkill. Unfortunately for him, an armadillo was the snack.

We went out this morning and headed down Canoe Creek Road. Right away we saw the armadillo, recently run over, with a sole eagle feasting on it.

Pretty soon the Cara Cara arrived.

Took a break and sat in this post for a few minutes. Then went back to the feast.
This looks like the juvenile is sassing the adult.

After the Cara Cara had their fill the buzzards arrived. They dragged the remains off the road into the high grass and demolished the armadillo. Cycle of life.
