Giddy with happiness after seeing those eagles we drove another half mile and saw this owl on a telephone pole. These are a combination of both our shots.
This is an example of the bird being close. Yes he was at the top of a pole but the pole was next to the road! He wasn’t afraid of us, just wondering why we were so nosy.

I really like barred owls. The design on their feathers is so interesting. I especially love the soft brown feathers around their eyes!
