The launch was today. Here are some photos we took. People came from miles around to stand out on the jetty and watch. Others got in their boats and watched from there. The launch was postponed a few times until finally it happened at 3:45 pm.

I guess it was just a matter of time … LOL. We put a feeder up behind our camper this afternoon. We have a large picture window so we have a perfect view of the action. The first visitors were squirrels ๐คจ. We greased the pole with crisco. The squirrels can’t get up now! Here is a picture of the first bird guest, a cardinal.
We saw this youngster just outside KARS Park this morning. He/she is the youngest one we’ve ever seen. Notice how pale pink the feathers are with no markings on the head or beak. So adorable!

This bird is rather dull looking until the sun hits his feathers at just the right angle and then, oh boy, he is beautiful. This was taken at Merritt Island NWR.

Saw this bird out behind our camper.

There is a pair of eagles in the refuge. We’ve seen the pair but could only get a clear shot of one. We are still trying…
Victor says it looks like she is imitating Mae West and saying why don’t you come up and see me some time.
