We got lucky yesterday. Hardly got out of the campground and up onto Canoe Creek when we saw two Cara Cara sitting on fence posts. Across the road was an eagle sitting on an Osprey nest.

Then we noticed the Cara Cara tearing into a carcass. It took a minute but we figured out it was a Kestral. Kestrels have distinctive tail feathers.

It was a curious scenario. We decided the Eagle had the kestrel, ate all he wanted and dropped the remains where the Cara Cara found it and finished it off.
And now a couple more photos of the barred owl we saw a few days ago.

The last one makes me laugh. what a comical pose.
Hope you enjoyed the show.
Stay safe! XO
